Diaconate Miistry

The Deacon Ministry is primarily to support the pastor in his efforts to win people over for Christ.  We are disciples; we are an extension of the pastor’s arms.  We visit the sick and shut-in, assist the pastor on the first Sunday of the month with Communion and serve Communion on the first Sunday to those who are unable to attend church:  sick & shut-in, which includes nursing homes and hospitals.  Deacons attend church regularly and participate in religious programs of the church and Benevolence.
Our meeting is held the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

Deaconess Ministy

The purpose of the Deaconess Ministry is to:
Assist the pastor in developing the spiritual life of women and girls of the church
Visit the sick and shut-in; care for the needy and distressed of the church and in the community
Responsible for preparing the elements for the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion)
Assist in serving communion every first Sunday to the sick & shun-in in homes, nursing homes and hospitals.
The chairperson is responsible for notifying all candidates for baptism and provides all the necessary information for the process.
The work of the Deaconess is very essential and helpful in caring for the general spiritual welfare to the church as a unit The Deaconess Ministry meets every month, the Friday before communion Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Trustee Ministry

The Trustees are elected by the church to act as the legal representatives of the church in all legal affairs and matters. They assume the responsibility as custodians over the church’s property, providing insurance, and other necessary forms of protection for our church. The Trustees are real stewards over the Lord’s property. They seek to minimize the expense of the church in property, maintenance, upkeep, repairs, etc., as well as fulfilling all other duties as empowered by the church and pastor. The Trustee Ministry meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Church School Ministry

At the Unity Baptist Tabernacle Church School our goal is to share the love of God through sound Biblical instruction.  We teach and help develop the spirit of our students with the word of God, so it may enhance their everyday lives.  We also strive to improve the membership’s spirit (with the word of God), which is an essential part of their everyday walk with God.
We meet the 1st Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and invite all who wish to join the church school staff to attend. Responsible for the Wednesday evening Bible Study which convenes every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Prayer Ministry

The primary focus of the Prayer Ministry is to pray for our pastor, the spiritual, physical and financial growth of the church and its members.  The welfare of our communities, country, individual needs and the world at large.
The Prayer Ministry meet for one (1) hour of prayer on the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m.; and every Wednesday for Mid-Week Prayer Service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Missionary/Evangelism Ministry

The Missionary Ministry of Unity Baptist Tabernacle is a ministry committed to caring and sharing. We share the word of God by witnessing and evangelizing to individuals who have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. We are challenged to share resources that can help feed the hungry, comfort the brokenhearted and set at liberty those that are oppressed. The ministry’s focus is to build up the body of Christ with the work of mission in our surrounding communities and in foreign lands. Our foundation scripture is Luke 4:16-21. The ministry is a member of   and   cooperates with, the United Missionary Baptist Association,   Empire Baptist Missionary State Convention And The National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.

Our monthly meeting is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Women’s Ministry

The women of our congregation work together towards a goal to benefit our church; the concerns of women, such as, Women’s Health and Spiritual Enhancement, etc.  Our committees organize various fundraisers and activities ranging from retreats to enhance our spiritual growth, powerful prayer breakfasts, plays, and many other activities to reach our goals.
The Women’s Ministry meets every 4th Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

Men’s Fellowship Ministry & Men’s Fellowship Choir

Purpose:
To build up together our life in Christ and to promote fellowship among Christian men through worship, prayer and service, to our church and to our community.

Mission:
To fellowship with the men of Unity, other churches and the community.
To meet on a regular basis for breakfast and fellowship
To arrange for speakers at some meetings to share their experience and relationship with their heavenly father
To help where possible in the maintenance of the church.

The Men’s Fellowship meets every 3rd Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
The Men’s Fellowship Choir rehearses every 3rd Thursday of the month.

Teen Ministry (Ages 13-19)

The membership of this ministry consists of young people ages 13 – 19 years old.
The mission for this ministry is to enlist, inspire, train and prepare the young people for participation and leadership in various activities in UBT and throughout to other churches/ministries
Each person will be guided to know and feel that they are a part of God’s witness and a blessing to the world. The teen ministry meets every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of the Crowns of Glory Ministry is to help Seniors maintain independence, good health and security. To enable them to make good and wise decisions regarding their future.


Willing Workers Ministry

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4

• To fellowship in all activities and other ministries of Unity Baptist Tabernacle and aid sick members upon request.
• Remember the sick and shut-in with donations for Easter and Thanksgiving.
• Outreach to the homeless through clothes drives.
• Fellowship with a cook-out for members and guests
• Everybody Birthday Celebration in December
• Fundraisers to help finance our events and to make donations to the church
• Annual prayer breakfast.

Pastor’s Aide Ministry

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper:”

Mindful of the arduous task of the position and responsibility of pastor ship, the members of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry of Unity Baptist Tabernacle endeavor to lift the burdens of daily routine and provide our shepherd with a peaceful mind.  We set forth out of “love for the Lord” to encourage and strengthen our pastors resolve to preach the word and uplift the spirits of our congregation from day to day.

Dispensing with irregularity, ineptitude, ungratefulness and mistrust, members of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry will continue the Unity Baptist Tabernacle tradition of taking superb care of its pastor.
Our meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m.

Tabernacle Choir Ministry
Mission:
The Tabernacle Choir is a ministry to serve Unity Baptist Tabernacle in uplifting our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through songs of praise.

Purpose:
The Tabernacle Choir is responsible for providing the music for all services at the church.  The choir may also be asked to accompany the pastor to any preaching engagements he may have.

We consider singing in the choir a great blessing.  There is a song to fit every occasion or situation in life.  Sometimes we sing when we can’t express ourselves in word.  It has been said that “voice” is the only musical instrument made by god.

Choir rehearsals are held once a week.  We prepare ourselves for rehearsal and service by holding hands in a circle of prayer.  We ask god to anoint our voices so that we can serve him and bless somebody in song.

Recording Ministry

The Recording Ministry is one of Unity Baptist Tabernacle’s newest ministries.  They provide a number of services for the church’s audio and video needs.  The Recording Ministry is responsible for the sound system in the church as well as recording programs on CD, tape, video and DVD.  The Recording Ministry makes available all Sunday morning worship services to the congregation.  The Recording Ministry is also responsible for assuring our radio ministry is aired every Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m.

Unity Male Chorus

The purpose of the Unity Male Chorus is to serve the church and community through songs of Worship and Praise.  We travel wherever we are called to bring the word of God through song.
We rehearse every Monday night at 8:00 p.m.

Voices Of Praise Ministry Ages 4 - 19

• To bring Praise and Worship through song on the fourth Sunday of each month.
• Ages 4-19
  Meet the 3rd and 4th Saturday Of the month at 12:00 p.m.

Act For Jesus Christ Drama Ministry

Mission:
 The Drama Ministry is here to create special opportunities for all members who want to express their spirituality in a creative manner. The Drama Ministry propose a new method that will not only increase the number of members involved in a ministry, but provide them with the opportunity to develop self confidence, pride, professionalism, public speaking, and the ability of understanding God’s word in a narrative and visual form. The Drama Ministry supports the pastor and all other ministries that require their assistance.

Our Vison:
To spread the love of Jesus Christ through drama and poetry.

Objectives/Goals:

• To be active in furthering the vision and mission of the church
• To use drama to help bring new light to familiar lessons
• Meet all financial obligations assigned to the ministry

Praise Dance Ministry

The overall mission of the Praise Dance Ministry is based on Psalm 150.  The Praise Dance Ministry must remain committed to praise God in his sanctuary.  Additionally the goal of the Praise Dance Ministry is to assist the pastor in creating an environment filled with genuine, unrestricted praise and worship for God.  This usually entails dancing at our home church but may also include accompanying the pastor when he is the guest preacher at another church.  The ministry must be mindful that their purpose is not to entertain the congregation but to edify the congregation by using God-Given talents and creative gifts.  This requires that ministry participants become more committed to learning the word of God.  The Bible encourages worshippers to “study to show thyself approved unto God. A workman needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”  (2 timothy 2:15)
